Here @ Hrothgar's!

Hey guys! We're here at Heorot, with Hrothgar and his buddies.
So, they've been having a little issue at home, right? This crazy monster-bloke, Grendel, has been getting in their hair for forever. Okay, maybe not that long, but that guy's been slaying their friends and families left and right, so they did the righteous thing and totally called me. Heh, yeah; I'm pretty awesome in that reguard.
Anyway, this Grendel guy is supposed to be a descendant of Cain and all that. But you know what? That's no big deal, it's not like he's gonna get in here and bother *us* or anything. I mean, hello- I'm BEOWULF. I can handle a little demon slaying, even if that guy's been around a while. Sure, he took out like, 30 men, but that's something he'll have to pay for later.


Anyway, fellows, Hrothgar and his lady are offering me some drinks, so I'm gonna settle down with them till nightfall. Get ready for some fun times!

There is so much mead here, guys. It is *awesome*. Even with that jerk, Unferth being all OH BEOWULF I AM SO MUCH COOLER THAN YOU~
But, seriously?
That guy. Man, he's just jealous. He can't even swim well, which is really funny. When I went to take on Breca, coz we were best buds, I got attacked BY AN OCEAN MONSTER! Which is why I didn't do as well as Breca. I had to slay nine- Yeah, not eight, not three, not seven, but nine sea monsters while I was down there.
How many has Unferth slain? I'll tell you: It starts with 'z' and ends with 'ero-Unferth-is-such-a-loser', that's how many.

Maybe if Unferth weren't such a git, Grendel wouldn't have SLAIN EVERYONE!
Heh, yeah. We all drank to that. Even Hrothgar's babe, Wealtheow was in on it. She thinks I'm totally funny, and brave and strong and stuff. Totally promised her I'd get Grendel for her or die trying, so, you know. I'm still pretty awesome.

Anyway, I think Grendel's got a plot tonight. I can feel it. Hrothgar's trusting me to watch the hall while everyone else sleeps off the drink, but it was a pretty great party.
I hope we can do this again. Anyway, I've gotta go. I've got Grendel-Watchin' to do.
