Man, me and my men are pretty epic. When we came back to Heorot, it took four men to carry Grendel's head, and the look on those Dane's faces was priceless! They were so shocked! It was pretty awesome. I gave the head and the melted giant sword to King Hrothgar, he was pretty pleased by that, and made a big speech praising me and talking about some other stuff, something about being good and wise...I kind of tuned out when he stopped talking about me. He promised me tons of rewards too, which is super awesomeee! My king is going to be SO glad he has me to do all this great stuff.
We had another awesome banquet with lots of good food and festivities that night. I went to bed pretty early though, it had been a long day! When I woke up this morning, I went and gave Unferth his useless sword back, although I guess it was a nice gesture. Then I went and talked to Hrothgar, letting him know that my men and I were ready to go home. He totally understood, and gave me TWELVE treasures! It was so cool. He talked a lot about me coming back to visit, but that's not going to happen. I've been here long enough. So off we went, with all our awesome treasures, back to Geatland to the hall of great King Hygelac.
He asked me all about my trip, I told him all about how awesome I was and gave him all the treasures we received. He thought I was a pretty remarkable guy. So much that he even gave me a bunch of treasure for myself and even my own land to rule over! SWEET! Well I'm going to go rule my land now, and I'll be pretty busy so I don't know when I'll update you all again. So peace be with you!
